RESIDENCE TIME
Shortening the residence time of polymer in die can reduce plastic degradation risks.
Once the plastic degrades, there will be obviously defects on product appearance: yellowing, black specks (burnt polymer) and cracks that may change the original mechanical properties: elasticity disappearance, strength decrease or produce corrosive gas. Besides, some polymer will gradually stick and accumulate on the inner die wall after plastic degradation which might block the fluid path then affect the production process.
